Lake Manyara National Park
Lake Manyara National Park is a beautiful national park located in Tanzania. Despite being one of the smaller national parks in the country, it is known for its diverse wildlife and breathtaking scenery. The park is home to over 400 species of birds, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, baboons, waterbucks, impalas, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and an abundant population of leopards. Visitors can catch a glimpse of the renowned “tree climbing” lions with a bit of luck. The park’s vegetation changes from groundwater forests to flood plains and finally to acacia wood plains.
The lake itself is a soda lake/alkaline lake and attracts thousands of pink flamingos. Visitors can enjoy the park all year round, but the dry season from June to October is considered the best time for game viewing. The park is easily accessible from Arusha, and the roads are well surfaced. The peak tourist season is from June to October, and the park can get crowded, especially in the mornings.
On the other hand, the low tourist season is from March to April, which is also the rainy season.
